That's more than five defenseless creatures every day. PETA has a walk-in freezer to store the dead bodies, and contracts with a Virginia Beach company to cremate them.

Not counting the pets PETA spayed and neutered, the group put to death over 90 percent of the animals it took in during the last five years. And its angel-of-death pattern shows no sign of changing.

On its 2002 federal income-tax return, PETA claimed a $9,370 write-off for a giant walk-in freezer, the kind most people use as a meat locker or for ice-cream storage. But animal-rights activists don't eat meat or dairy foods. And during a 2007 criminal trial, a PETA manager (testifying under oath) confirmed the obvious -- that the group uses the appliance to store the bodies of its victims.

In 2000, when the Associated Press first noted PETA's Kervorkian-esque tendencies, PETA president Ingrid Newkirk complained that actually taking care of animals costs more than killing them. "We could become a no-kill shelter immediately," she admitted.

PETA kills animals. Because it has other financial priorities.

PETA rakes in nearly $30 million each year in income, much of it raised from pet owners who think their donations actually help animals. Instead, the group spends huge sums on programs equating people who eat chicken with Nazis, scaring young children away from drinking milk, recruiting children into the radical animal-rights lifestyle, and intimidating businessmen and their families in their own neighborhoods. PETA has also spent tens of thousands of dollars defending arsonists and other violent extremists.

PETA claims it engages in outrageous media-seeking stunts "for the animals." But which animals? Carping about the value of future two-piece dinners while administering lethal injections to puppies and kittens isn't ethical. It's hypocritical -- with a death toll that PETA would protest if it weren't their own doing.

PETA kills animals. And its leaders dare lecture the rest of us?
-------------------------

Carlos Puig suspended....

Mr. Dachshund out of comission? Times 3!

Three litters! Dear lord, I never thought I would do that. I didn't want to this time, but we all know about oops! litters. Sugar was supposed to stay away from Dan this time around, but Darling Daughter decided that ALL the dogs needed to play together. Oh Dear.....

So everyone was in heat, then everyone was pregnant, now everyone has litters. Three to be exact. Ranging from 22 days to ten weeks. I have all longhair puppies, only one black & tan shorthair.

And to top it off, my computer no longer can read or store photos. How do you sell puppies without cute pictures? The only pictures I have are old, or puppies from these litters that have sold. But they are representitive of what I have, I suppose. I have all longhair puppies, only one black & tan shorthair. Mostly pet, the only one I will possibly sell full is the CH Shamrock's Daniel daughter in the last photo. I wish I had better, but she was evalutaed by Vicki Stone and her handler. "Very nice bitch puppy." I'm keeping her two brothers, I'm growing them out for show. Contact me for specifics, tell me about your program, then we'll see....
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_1klhKHSatC8/SA9IoYaaJAI/AAAAAAAAAGc/cz93276-YQo/s400/Elmo-4_13_opt.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192448753966654466" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_1klhKHSatC8/SA9JRYaaJBI/AAAAAAAAAGk/HZHH39G2nXs/s200/Picture_015_opt.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192449458341291026" /><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_1klhKHSatC8/SA9J04aaJCI/AAAAAAAAAGs/So5-CM3EI_E/s200/Zoe_Front_opt.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5192450068226647074" />

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://smalltowndachs.blogspot.com/2008/04/puppies-times-3.html' title='Puppies! As everyone with an animal knows, if you let the little buggers gain a foothold, it's disaster time! You will spend hundreds of dollars on sprays, maybe spot-ons, powders, internal preperations, hundreds of hours cleaning and spraying and fogging and dusting the yard. I can usually avoid it with some advance preperation.

There are concotions on the market, but I'm sort of cheap. I have to be, I have 7 dogs, right? I went to the vet for three heartworm tests (negative :) three boxes of Sentinel, and 1 three year Rabies shot...$340. I almost had a heart attack!

So, every morning when I mix thier breakfast....dry Royal Canin, a can of wet, usually chicken, crushed Companion or Solid Gold vitimins and water, I now add a scant shake of Garlic Powder. You don't want to give too much, that can cause Animia. So if you mix for one or two, I think put a shake in your hand and use half.

It's also time for adding Apple Cider Vinigar to the water besides the 35% food grade peroxide. Just a teaspoon to the water bowl will do it....with all these things you're going for the cumulative effect of your daily efforts. Anything at all, if given in excess in one sitting, can cause toxicity.

So between the Garlic and Vinagar and the other stuff you do, fleas (and mosquitos) don't stand a chance. Firt, fleas absolutely hate the taste of garlic, add the double whammy of altered Ph of the blood thanks to the Vinagar (which makes it stink to bloodsuckers), they are not sticking around for a meal. They may jump onto the neighbor's dog, a stray cat or anything else (including you....eat GARLIC!!), but they won't be on your dog. :)

This goes for horses too folks...give them a hand, doctor that water. Garlic for horses, I bet so, but I don't know how much. That's what search engines are for :)

I also dust my yard and kennels with Diatomacous earth. It's made from ground up Diatoms, ancient fossilized deposits are mined from the earth. It"s ground up shells, really, and you can imagine that's just like glass shards to a soft bodied insect. These shards pierce the body of the insect (fleas, ticks, earwigs, anything that crawls and has a soft body). After a couple days, the insect dies of dehydration. So after a rain, of course you may want to refresh it if you have a problem, because once the Diatoms get wety, they are no longer sharp.

Bio-WOW!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_1klhKHSatC8/R__QNwWl09I/AAAAAAAAAGU/AeCKm9abT-w/s400/logo1416332_md.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188094230490633170" />

It seems like I was always tired. Exausted from running around after young children, dogs, puppies and trying to keep a house. That's not to mention the travel business that used to pay better, trying to build a kennel and attampting to build a store called NatureCare attached to my site.
A friend sent me a liquid vitamin that she promised me tasted great, and that once consumed I couldn't live without. So, being skeptical, I mixed it with Apple Juice because I was certain it would be bitter, sour, vitaminy, or otherwise as horrid as the Eniva Vibe I once had.
HOLY COW was that sweet! And was I wrong! The stuff was good, I mean really good. I never should have put it in juice, it was way too much. But I still got the effect. Within 20 minutes I had joined this company, because I knew I had to have this stuff! By joining, I get a 30% discount off the bat, and they give you A LOT of product, so why not? That, added with the knowledge that I knew about the pay from a lady I had known for years, and always got a check every month for at least $600 even when she ignored working the business, well I was convinced.
So what is it called? Biometics. It's like this well kept secret. The pay actually is great and the product is off the charts. Check it out!

Immune 26 and your pet

I've written a bit on the impact of Immune 26 on animal health, here is some correspondence I got from the company today. CH Shamrock's Daniel and Small Town Wee Waggy Maggie have a beautiful litter of five. Three boys and two girls born Feb. 10, 2008. Two are definately pet, and they will leave us at 8 weeks. The others (at least a couple) will stay until the 12 week evaluations.

I will have them evaluated by Dan's co-owner, Vicki Stone of Stoneriver Dachshunds, Sue Acklin of Aklaim Dachshunds, and Alicia Recsek of Orchardwood.

In other news, Alfie is home and doing very well, but I can't get him to pick his head up when we gait. I can dance on the end of the lead, and he doesn't respond. The funny thing is, when he's off lead he is very happy to gait with me. If anyone has ideas, throw them out to me, please!!!!!
I'll give him time, hopefully he matures out of it. If not, I'll put him with a handler that finishes a lot of Vicki's dogs, a fella named Carlos. I guess he's great with Dachshunds. :)

I'm embarassed at how slow the kennel is going, at this rate, I'll be lucky to have it by spring planting.

More $ for breeding rights?

When I first came to this breed, I was quite shocked. Breeders were actually wantinmg to charge hundreds more for full registration and breeding rights to the dog I was purchasing! :)
Now I know I was looking at it wrong. A common practice among Dachshund breeders I saw as charging me hundreds more for the right of full registration, and the right to register my pups with AKC. Actually, what they are doing is quite the opposite, they just word it in a way that does not clearly define what they are doing. Say the pricing on a litter is stated as follows: $1000.00 for Pet with Limited Registration. Available with Full Registration and Breeding Rights for $1500.00. How it should really be worded, is: $1500.00. Reduced Pet Price is available on this puppy with a limited registration.

That way people would understand the puppies worth is $1500 with everything that normally comes with a puppy, health gaurentees, registration, etc.
Instead of getting angry, I think people would then be ok with the price, and realize that the breeder was offering a consideration to those that wanted a loving companion only.

IMPORTS

I've noticed a rash of puppies being sold lately with the catch phrase "import sired" or "import pedigree". Come on people, Import doesn't mean anything special. It doesn't mean the dog is good or better quality. Actually, chances are, it has a greater probability of not being so good, unless it is a dog acquired directly from the kennel by a well known or connected breeder. Don't think they send us their best stuff. Would you? Some might, I know. But the big money kennels don't, especially when they are in another country. You will find a number of good males in this country, but not bitches. Unless you have connections and very deep pockets, you are most probably not going to get a great bitch.

The dog may be a CH, but other countries don't have the compitition and sometimes even the high point requirements. I really don't know about the points or compition in other countries, but from what I've heard through the grapevine, I think it's a pretty good assumption. I'm not saying some of these dogs are not very good, they are. Just don't be fooled, ok? Even a great line overbred can produce problems, by concentrating the genes.
But Like I said to a well known breeder the other day, "When I can afford it better, I want you to help me find a great S******** male with alot of coat" Her answer? "You probably won't find one. There's a whole lot more bad ones than good ones in this country".
So, breeders, be careful. If you want to import, unless you are a name with the owners, you will not get much for your money. Except a kennel name. Puppy buyers...be careful what you buy with import lines. If you want to base a breeding program on it, make sure that import along with the other ancestors, are good. Do research, talk to as many former owners as possible. You learn alot that way.
Heck, I learned a TON about CH Dan from the breeder of Dan's father. I never realized what a gem I did have. But it could have gone the other way too, so homework, homework, homework.
That's all from Jen.

________________

Companion for Life

I'm pretty holistic in my approach to care of my dogs. If the dog's God given immune system can heal it without artificial stimulation from medicines that can actually supress the body's natural healing ability, then that's how I will go. I use whole foods, things like peroxide water with 1 extra water molocule), Collodial Silver (water infused with Silver), Immune 26 (balences immune system, so the body heals itself).
I got an email from a lady today, bless her heart, she saved a little Doxie girl from a horrible fate. Now she is dealing with the results of the neglect this little girl suffered early in life. Worms, suppressed immune system, etc. She will try the peroxide, and I await the results of that.
I want to talk a little about a product I've had great success with. It's not something mainstream, and you will never find it in stores. It's a product sold by MLM. (Before you poo-poo that, MLM is not bad, it's a distribution model. Some MLMers however, are quite bad. Don't confuse a whole industry with those horrible, pushy people. For the most part, we are quite professional.) Back to the point, Companion for Life.
Companion has the usual gamut of vitamins, minerals and the addition of chrondoitin. It does have one unique ingredient. It's called Immune 26. It balences the immune system, so the body itself can do the work of healing and putting right what is wrong. I can tell you it has almost 200 patents and clinical trails up the wazoo proving it does what it says. Heck, Google it. But you don't want to hear that, you don't want to waste a bunch of time reading, what you want to know, is does it work? I can say unequivocally, it does. I've been involved with dogs a very long time, and this product actually does what it claims. Amazing, because it really seems so many don't.
Just so you don't feel ambushed,I will tell you I do sell it. I used it, I loved it, I decided to sell it. I figured, what is the sense ordering it from the company as a customer when I could order in BULK at a good savings, as a distributor. But when that letter came today, I thought, "there are people who could use the same results I've seen". So here it is.
With the use of Companion, I personally have seen coat improvement, softening and lengthening. I've seen allergies disappear. I shared this with people who have gotten dogs off of kidney medicine, gotten rid of flea demitites and seen hair regrow. I had a dog come here from a boarding kennel with staph infection of the skin. With the immune 26 powder, I saw that clear up within weeks. I use it with pregnant females, I'm not sure if this is responsible, but everyone always has a good milk supply. (there have been studies done in dairy cattle where milk production has increased)
So, basically, if you have issues with stiffness, bad coat, slow healing, general bad health....use Companion. It you have MAJOR skin issues, cancers, surgery or mastitis, use Immune 26. I would personally use the Immune powder in conjuntion with peroxide in the water or the Silver given orally.
ORDER COMPANION TODAY!

Logan, The Sky Angel Cowboy

Call from a 12 year old boy to a Houston radio station. When you think "Ethical Treatment of Animals" it brings good things to mind, fuzzy feelings. This organization's name is completely inappropriate and not at all what they are about. By their own admission (and I'll certainly not provide a link here that will boost traffic for them) the goal of these nut balls is a "No Birth Nation". Meaning, no more domestic animals, extinction, genocide of ANY animal kept by humans.
Do those ditzy spokesmodels with those little "designer" dog know what their money is supporting? Appearantly not, because if PETA has their way, NO ONE will own or keep any animal, for any reason. There won't be a domestic animal left for anyone to keep.

I was formulating a provoking editorial on this newest mission, but then I saw this article. It says it all perfectly.

The Backyard Breeder Fallacy> > by Ms. Jade, TheDogPress Legislative Reporter> >

I own purebred dogs. Once a year or so I breed a litter from DNA profiled> champion stock. For that, I will never apologize as I truly have the best interest of my chosen breed foremost in my mind. Am I an elitist? You betcha! Would I cringe if you went so far as to call me a dog Nazi? No.> > Serious breeders mate dogs of known background in order to reduce the chances of congenital defects and predict with greater accuracy the positive outcome of a planned litter of puppies. Therefore I probably seem like an unlikely advocate for the guy advertising puppies in the local newspaper.> > However, I am also a civil libertarian. And I won't apologize for that either.> > Proposed, pending and contested legislation around the United States and abroad that is aimed at restricting our property rights by targeting animal reproduction has become rampant at every level of government. Forced spay> and neuter, cost prohibitive licenses for unaltered dogs and breeding permits, micro chipping of our animals with their information (and ours) in government data bases, warrant-less inspection of our property, arbitrary> limits on the number of animals we can responsibly care for and mandatory husbandry practices are some of the ways in which dog owners are being relieved of their civil rights. > > While our agrarian forefathers did not specifically guarantee us the right to own and breed animals, they did guarantee us the right to be treated equally under the law, the right to own property, the right to be free from> warrant-less search and seizure of that property, the right to due process and the right to commerce. With no respect for our Constitution, animal rights supporters are working hard to relieve us of these rights by packaging restrictive legislation in a way that is not only palatable to dog> owners, even some breeders, but misleadingly leaves them with the impression that they have supported something beneficial. Far too many animal owners and welfare advocates are buying into it in one area or another.> > Divide and conquer. By creating stereotypes and labels, like "puppy mill" and "backyard breeder" and attaching a stigma to those labels, the animal rights movement is trying to disgrace the act of breeding animals. And they're doing a great job. The media has been flooded with images of dogs> being raised in cages, in filth, in neglect. Sad faces of shelter animals behind prison bars on "death row". Images intended to produce an emotional response instead of an intellectual one. And don't forget the staggering> statistics. > > It's not a secret that animal rights mean no more domestic animals. It's in their mission statements. HSUS president Wayne Pacelle brags that "We have no ethical obligation to preserve the different breeds of livestock produced> through selective breeding. One generation and out. We have no problem with the extinction of domestic animals. They are the creations of human selective breeding". Allow me to translate, no animal breeding means no more animals. Period. And while the general public cannot be sold on such a radical concept, it's been surprisingly easy to sell them on the concept of ever tightening restrictions. Although united in our love of domestic dogs, slick marketing by the enemy has created infighting. Breeders both private and commercial, rescuers, shelter staff, animal control, dog show exhibitors and pet owners are cleverly being turned against one another to forward the animal rights agenda. Each believing that their point of view is the only valid one and everyone else's civil rights no longer matter.> > Yes, I too personally find those images disturbing. They are the product of gross human negligence and irresponsibility. I love animals, I have been a shelter volunteer, and I believe in animal welfare but I am also a realist.> Things are rarely what they appear on the surface. In order to end the animal surplus and related suffering, I want to get to the actual cause, to prevent the illness instead of treating the symptoms, so to speak.> > The demand for a product (puppies, for example) is driven by the consumer. It's a simple case of supply and demand in a free market economy. Don't blame the seller for being an opportunist. It's only human nature flourishing in what is still a mostly democratic society. An uneducated consumer has every right to purchase an inferior product and suffer the consequences. Just as the seller has every right to promote the benefits their product, in order to influence the decisions of the consumer. If breed purists and elitists like me are outraged at breeders who turn a profit by> selling what we consider to be an inferior product, then we must only blame ourselves for failing to educate the buyers.> > Ignore the propaganda; dog breeding is not the cause of shelter overpopulation. Animals end up in shelters for a myriad of reasons. Behavior problems that result from a lack of training and proper socialization along with normal breed characteristics that the owner finds unacceptable top the list. Owner death, job transfer/move, landlord/rental restrictions, insurance discrimination, financial trouble and the inability to comply with escalating pet ownership restrictions also contribute to the problem. The system is designed to perpetuate it.> > We live in a disposable society. As long as domestic animals are viewed as a short term convenience, instead of a serious long term commitment then change is unlikely. The problem is one of perspective, information and education. Pointing fingers at each other is cowardly and counterproductive.> > According to a 2005 article in the HSUS magazine All Animals, 75% of the shelter population is comprised of mongrels. Now I'm no math wizard, but I can extrapolate that only 25% must therefore be purebred animals. If this is true, then random bred dogs are the real cause of shelter overpopulation, not "puppy mills", breed enthusiasts or "backyard breeders" of purebred dogs. Yet this same HSUS article praises the mongrel as superior because of> its' larger gene pool. One that may very well be polluted with unknown genetic defects. They even go so far as to market them as a "designer" product. Sort of a haute couture, one of a kind canine fashion accessory.> > Now, it occurs to me that if you truly want to reduce the animal shelter population in a meaningful and dramatic way, than you should advocate for the elimination of the mongrel, through mandatory spay and neuter of random bred dogs with unknown ancestry. (See, I am a dog Nazi!) Most dog breeders know that you must have a firm grasp of the genetic past, in order to improve the genetic future of your line. Many of the minority purebred animals that end up in the local shelter may not have a known origin either,> and are therefore not an ethical choice for perpetuation of their breed. The same "hybrid vigor" so highly touted in the mongrel is just as easily achieved by crossing healthy purebreds of known ancestry to create new breeds. Man has done so since the beginning of domesticated dog breeding and whatever we fancy, that breed was created by this process. > > The beauty of purebred dogs is that there is something to appeal to almost anyone. I don't have to agree with your choice but I must respect your right to make it. I'm not going to advise that consumers rush out and purchase a> Puggle, Labradoodle, or Cockapoo, anymore than I would suggest that everyone should select my preferred breed. (Not everyone deserves one!) Whether these designer hybrids stand the test of time or fade out with other trends is not for me to say. Freedom of choice means the freedom to make the wrong choice, and the freedom to make better choices in the future.> > Am I a "backyard breeder"? Well, by technical definition I guess I am. I have also been a front yard breeder, a living room breeder and a cab of my motor home on the way to the dog show breeder. If that makes me a villain, then the animal rights lunatics and the terrorists who support their> ideology win. But if you become an independent thinker, then freedom wins. We all win.

> > Ms. Jade> Copyright C 2007 TheDogPress. com - Reprint> rights hereby granted upon the condition that a link to the reprinted page> is furnished to mailto:Contact@ ...?subject= Reprint> Request> - Editorial upon publication. >

X-Pens, inexpensive, easy and quick

X-PEN ALTERNATIVE

Lately more and more people have been asking me about my x-pen/whelping pen alternative. It's very inexpensive, quick, convenient and comes in a variety of sizes. I got the idea from another breeder on one of my Dachshund forums.

Home Depot, Menards or any of the home improvement stores have these "panels" readily available for about $5.59 give or take a little. What I use is the epoxy or plastic coated wire linen shelves. They come in lengths of 4' to 6'. Either 12' or 18' wide. I think I saw a 24" once, that would be handy for those with breeds larger than Dachshunds..... cockers, beagles and such.

What I do is take the sections, if I need them cut down I do that, to 3', 2' or whatever. I secure the corners with plastic zip ties, these can either permenant or removable, doesn't matter. Cattle farmers use it to control Mastitis, use it for worming, clean equiptment with it, drink it themselves, use it in the bath, use it to clean and do laundry, the list goes on and on.
So, it was nothing new when I decided to use it with the dogs. I decided to start with the water. I use 32 oz Lixit Bottles attached to the wall of my old kennel building, so I started by putting one dropof 35% food grade in each bottle when filling. I increased until I was at 4-5 drops per 2 litre bottle of water. Just fill an old pop bottle and put the drops in. I filled my bottles from that.

Within a month, all eye boogers were gone. Ears smelled good and looked clean. Teeth were pretty and no bad breath. Eyes were bright, and the dogs just seemed peppier. I did the same thing with the litters I've raised, all my puppies drink water with Peroxide in it. My puppies have NEVER SO FAR tested positive for worms, Giardia, Coccidia, or any other nasty. I had some puppies come in from another breeder with Giardia. The vet didn't beleive my peroxide or Colloidial Silver would help at all, he said stop using that crap, just give them these meds. I gave the meds for 2 days, since I saw NO improvement, I went back to a double dose of Peroxide in the water and 1 tsp of Collodial Silver per day. Within 3 days, the runs stopped, they started looking and probably feeling better.

So we went along and everyone was healthy, I never made trips to the vet unless it was for a rabies vac or something necessary. Last month, I decided to stop the peroxide in the water. Yesterday when I checked, sure enough, eye boogers. I wiped everybodies face. Today when I checked, eye boogers. Today they go back on Peroxide.

Peroxide was not something I've ever sold, but I've told people about. They seem to have a hard time locating it, and when they do find it, the cost is outrageous. It doesn't have to be at all. I will start taking pre-orders for either quarts or gallons of this product, so I will know how much to buy from our supplier. He comes up from Ohio but once a year, so email me by clicking the pre-order link, there will be no money due now, I just need to know how much to get in. I'm not certain on the price, but it looks like $15.00 a quart, $8.00 a pint. At one to five drops per 2 litres, imagine how long this would last you!
My dogs have been on it in the kennel continiously, but the inside dogs were not. They have a regular bowl, and I never put it in. As of today, that all changes. Because, they all have eye boogers. Many of them have stinky ears. Everyone is getting Peroxide as of today, I swear by it.

Small Town News

I haven't been here for awhile, I've been caught up in all the changes happening.

I took Alfie (Stoneriver's Acklaimed Affair ML) down to Sue Acklin to show in Lansing Dec. 2 for his first show. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to work with animals, have a kennel or horse facility. But even after 35 years of working with dogs, I have little experience with a breed that came to capture my heart.

My daughter Bonnie had fallen in love with the little dog called "Weenie" in the Osward cartoon. So she made up an imaginary little black and brown dog she called Slivers. On her birthday in August of 2004, I decided to sneak out and buy her a little black and brown dog. Not knowing who in the area might have little dogs like that, I asked a friend. After all, it didn't need to be a wonderful show dog, just a little pet for Bonnie.

This friend did know of someone with a black and brown dog, so we came to bring Slivers into our home.....

BONNIE'S LIL SLIVERS started something, a passion that culminated in SMALL TOWN DACHS. This barely little 9 pound girl is so much a part of our hearts, we can't imagine being without her. She is our comic relief, dancing and "singing" on command.

When I decided to create SMALL TOWN DACHS, I went in search for AKC dogs that would provide a strong foundation for my kennel. I found a few.......some great, some not so much. The not so great ones were sold on alteration contracts, and I didn't look back. I've since become associated with some of the best people in the breed, and I'm being allowed access to the type of dogs I've always dreamed of.

CH Shamrock's Daniel

Our New Kennel

Small Town has operated by keeping many of our dogs inside, but recently my daughter was diagnosed with severe allergies, that necessitated an indoor/outdoor facility where my dogs could be kept in the fashion that they should be.

So....I started The Kennel Project. I am a mom, so kids being kids, they can not always come outside, I have worked on it sometimes a half hour at a time. Result- it seems to go slow, but I certainly hope it will be worth the wait. I'm excited. Kennel Specs: It's 12x18. Six Magnadoors doors on one side. On the other, I will make 2 2'x2' whelping cubicles with hot water heat in the sub-floor. What should I do for flooring in the whelping area though? I'm thinking Linoleum tiles, I laid those in my groom room once upon a time, and they take bleach daily with no problem. I'll do something about a Magnadoor there too, leading to a little 4x4 yard. The inside has all wood flooring (crate wood, 1x3), after it's done, I'll rent a sander/buffer and finish them. I'm pretty excited, after harvest, hubby will plumb and do electrical. I will finish the outside with white steel, and green steel for the roof and 6' overhang over the runs.
Getting the door in and some paneling......
_________________

_________________
Posted: Sat Nov 17, 2007 9:25 am Post subject:

Finally! The house wrap, the electrical is almost done, and we are paneling. We went and got our J Channel to put on the steel siding, a tub and vanity and wall cupboard. Tonight when we go to pick up Sugar at the Flint Airport, we will stop at Menards and get the wiring.

_________________

It starts to look like a kennel..........
