Betcha thought I wasn't coming back......nope!
Lots of stuff has happened at Small Town, the most exciting being the birth of my newest litter. CH Shamrock's Daniel and Small Town Wee Waggy Maggie have a beautiful litter of five. Three boys and two girls born Feb. 10, 2008. Two are definately pet, and they will leave us at 8 weeks. The others (at least a couple) will stay until the 12 week evaluations.
I will have them evaluated by Dan's co-owner, Vicki Stone of Stoneriver Dachshunds, Sue Acklin of Aklaim Dachshunds, and Alicia Recsek of Orchardwood.
In other news, Alfie is home and doing very well, but I can't get him to pick his head up when we gait. I can dance on the end of the lead, and he doesn't respond. The funny thing is, when he's off lead he is very happy to gait with me. If anyone has ideas, throw them out to me, please!!!!!
I'll give him time, hopefully he matures out of it. If not, I'll put him with a handler that finishes a lot of Vicki's dogs, a fella named Carlos. I guess he's great with Dachshunds. :)
I'm embarassed at how slow the kennel is going, at this rate, I'll be lucky to have it by spring planting.
